About Us.

We engaged Ascend Construction Ltd for their Project Management services on the delivery of a 1,600m² laboratory and office fitout, where one of their Project Managers worked alongside the Westlab Spaces team as a Site Manager. From the outset, it was a pleasure dealing with Ben Hamlin, who took a proactive approach to understanding our project requirements and ensured we were matched with the right person for the job – Gary Waines.

Working with Gary on site was an excellent experience. He maintained a safe working environment, kept the project on a tight programme, managed subcontractors with professionalism and respect, and upheld a high standard of workmanship throughout. Gary also demonstrated strong communication skills, keeping both external consultants and the client team well-informed at every stage. No task was ever too difficult – Gary consistently went above and beyond to ensure the project was delivered to specification. On several occasions, he even got on the tools himself or worked directly with subcontractors to find smarter, more efficient solutions to site challenges.
